Just wanna say how amazing A Dogs Best Friend, Board and Train program is. It's been only a few days since Frank has been home and we can already see how much he has progressed. Thank you Taylor for putting so much hard work and time into training him we appreciate it so much.
One of my clients had told me about A Dog's Best Friend because they signed their standard poodle up for their Board and Train program. We recently decided to get another dog and we enrolled her in socialization classes, but that works on what that says, socialization. Our dog was just eating everything in sight: shoes, baseboards, front door, window sills, molding, area rugs, pant legs and even us. In addition, she was pulling a lot on our walks and was a complete mess when we needed to make her calm down when meeting strangers. We knew she was a puppy, but after around 8-months old, we knew we needed to nip this in the bud as soon as possible. Our dog is a Jack Russell Terrier Chihuahua Mix = lots of energy, but so cute. Regardless, we came to realization that we needed professional help so we could learn the tools that could create a win-win for us and our dog. We enrolled our puppy in their 3-week Board and Train and it YIELDED AMAZING RESULTS. We were so happy, I would do it over again and again. You have places that have training, but when you really want Professional Training, Assistance and Support, A Dog's Best Friend is the Creme De La Creme of dog training in the Camas and Vancouver Washington area. The trainer that they set us up with was Alex, and my wife and I do not have enough Amazing things to say about him, other than he is Pro Dog Trainer Rock Star. He knew how to work with our dog and was able to tap into her side that would make her chill out. Of course, it's a two way street, the owners have to put in their share of the work during and after the program, which they will help and support you with. A Dogs Best Friend was the missing link in how we needed to communicate and be with our puppy, who is now one years old. So in short, they did their job, they overdelivered and we are extremely happy!
I cannot express how grateful I am for Taylor at A Dog’s Best Friend. I took my Reactive German Shepherd to them for board and train. Not only did they work with me to ensure I was confident in their process and that my dog was safe in their care, Taylor took full ownership of my baby. He loves her and had been terrified of his previous trainer. She works with me regularly to transfer what he learned in training to my home. He is still the same hilarious, stubborn, full of personality dog but now has a level of control and discipline that I was never able to perfect on my own. His reactivity has improved 10 fold, and we are now simply working on his protective tendencies with me. I feel 100% supported and confident now and cannot recommend them enough!
We sent our 2 high energy Weimaraners to 3 weeks of board and train. They already had a good foundation of basic skills but this program was amazing! Alex trained both of our dogs at the same time. The biggest adjustment we have had is us remembering what word to use and when. We keep forgetting break because we never used it before but now we are seeing a huge benefit to it. Our main reason for sending our dogs was that they were horrible with greeting people at our house. One barking then the other starting then we lost all control. Place has been a lifesaver! Last night my hubby told both dogs place before he went to bed and the next morning they were still in their own place! Yes, it's a lot of money but soooo worth it!
Friendly, helpful staff. Very welcoming.
Always prompt responses to questions via text, email. Showed a genuine interest in our dog and her welfare. Displayed the need for the safety of other dogs in their care.
Sheru my 1.5 year old poodle has been visiting twice a week. He loves going there and is exhausted when he comes home. Everyone is super friendly and caring. Highly recommend.
They do their best to ensure the dogs to that are coming in good behavior and without health issues that can be transmitted to others. This is really comforting to hear as a pet owner. However, I do wish if they can give a puppy a second chance if they do grow out of the high energy phase. I do understand my puppy is energetic and mouthy at times (without aggression), and I do understand he cannot be with the establishment at the moment. But not giving him a second chance (once he is older and calmer) for behavior assessment, I do feel this is not fair. I really like this establishment not only for their quality of care but also the proximity to my house. I wish they will be willing to open up their decision to give some other dogs a second chance.
My fur babies are always excited to go see their friends at A Dog's BF. The staff is always SO KIND and truly exude a caring loving behavior towards my dogs. The staff is patient, calm and professional and ready to deal with all kinds of dog shenanigans. You should feel assured that your dog will be doing nothing but partying once you drop them off. My pups are always tired after their festive social days - it's a good thing!
